Week 3

I feel pretty comfortable posting pictures online with programs like Flickr, considering you have some control over who views them. I think programs like Flickr are very beneficial in ways that you can keep family members and friends who live further away up to date with photos they view online, versus waiting until the next holiday or whenever they can make it into the area to share your photos.  Programs like this can also be beneficial in the classroom because you can post pictures of students' work and progress and only allow parents and family to view them with the private settings.  This wouldn't limit the progress update to just parent-teacher conferences, they could refresh and upload additional pictures weekly or daily, allowing the family to check at their own discretion.

During a trip I took to Europe with my family, we made a pit stop in Iceland and it was the most amazing part of the trip to me. We spent a night in the Blue Lagoon, and the northern lights were crazy spectacular the whole evening! I most definitely plan to visit again as soon as I am able to.

Week 2

I am actually a member of two online communities. Although I do not use myspace nearly at all anymore, I have a profile with that site as well as Facebook.  I like Facebook more because it combines an instant messenger as well as the wall posts. I feel like myspace is somewhat for younger kids and isn't as personal as you can make your profile with facebook. Also with my experience i feel Facebook is more user friendly.

Week 1

This is the first blog post I've ever done.  I've also never made an Avatar.
